For attorneys

Common questions about the marketplace.

How leads are sourced, what you receive, pricing, compliance, and the refund policy.

Lead quality and intake

How are leads generated?
Every lead comes from a consumer who visited mattervine.com and completed a structured AI intake conversation. There is no purchased traffic resale and no form-fill scraping. The consumer describes their incident in their own words, and the AI extracts key facts, screens for eligibility, and scores the lead before it reaches the marketplace.
What information do I receive with each lead?
You receive the consumer’s contact information (name, phone, email), a sanitized narrative of what happened, extracted case facts (injury type, incident date, location, treatment status, insurance details), a quality score, and the full AI intake transcript. Sensitive PII like Social Security numbers and full addresses are redacted from the narrative before you see it.
What does the quality score mean?
Each lead is scored across five dimensions: completeness (how much information the consumer provided), consistency (whether the facts align), engagement (how thoughtfully they participated), timeliness (how recent the incident is relative to the statute of limitations), and legitimacy (fraud and red-flag screening). The overall score is a composite of these five.
What verticals do you cover?
Auto accidents, truck accidents, slip-and-fall, premises liability, medical malpractice, dog bites, defective products, nursing-home abuse, and wrongful death. We do not sell workers’ compensation, employment, family law, criminal, or business-dispute leads.
How do you screen out low-quality or fraudulent leads?
The AI intake includes built-in consistency checks, and our lead-scoring system flags red flags like contradictory timelines, implausible details, and signs of script-following. Leads that fail legitimacy screening are excluded from the portal entirely. We also verify email deliverability before sending handoff communications.

How the marketplace works

How do I claim a lead?
Browse open cases in the attorney portal at app.mattervine.com. Each card shows a sanitized summary, case type, location, incident date, and quality score. When you find a case you want, click Reserve and complete payment. You receive the consumer’s full contact information and case file within minutes.
Are leads exclusive?
Yes. Each lead is sold to exactly one attorney. Once you reserve a case, it is removed from the marketplace and no other attorney can claim it.
How quickly do I need to contact the consumer?
We recommend reaching out within one business day. The consumer has completed a detailed intake and is expecting to hear from an attorney. Speed matters — consumers who hear from counsel quickly are significantly more likely to retain.
What if the consumer does not respond?
If a lead is genuinely uncontactable after reasonable attempts, you may request a refund under our money-back guarantee. See the refund policy section below.

Pricing

How much does a lead cost?
Lead pricing varies by case type, jurisdiction, and quality tier. Pricing is displayed on each case card in the portal before you commit. There is no subscription, no monthly minimum, and no long-term contract.
How do I pay?
Payment is processed through Stripe at the time you reserve a case. We accept all major credit cards.
Are there volume discounts?
Not yet, but we are building toward it. If you are interested in higher volume, email [email protected] and we can discuss your needs.

Money-back guarantee

What does the money-back guarantee cover?
If a lead is uncontactable after reasonable attempts, if the case was materially misrepresented in the intake (for example, the consumer described a car accident but the real situation is a contract dispute), or if the lead is a duplicate of a matter you already have — you receive a full refund within 30 days, no questions beyond basic documentation.
How do I request a refund?
Email [email protected] with the case reference and a brief explanation. We process refund requests within five business days.
What does the guarantee not cover?
The guarantee does not cover cases where the consumer is contactable but declines to retain you, cases where the consumer retains a different attorney, or cases where the legal merits turn out to be weaker than the intake suggested. Those are normal risks of evaluating any prospective client.

Compliance and consent

Is the consumer’s consent TCPA-compliant?
Yes. Every consumer provides express written consent during intake, authorizing MatterVine and the matched attorney to contact them by phone (including automated systems), SMS, and email. The exact consent language and timestamp are stored in our consent ledger and included in the case file you receive.
Can I use the lead’s information for marketing?
No. Lead contact information is provided exclusively for the purpose of evaluating and potentially representing the consumer on the matter described in the intake. Using it for unrelated marketing or sharing it with third parties violates the Attorney Terms.
What are my obligations under the Attorney Terms?
You must be a licensed attorney in good standing in the state where the consumer’s case arises. You must contact leads promptly, treat consumer information confidentially, and notify MatterVine if you cannot handle a case so we can re-route it. The full terms are at mattervine.com/attorney-terms.
